Drs. Mark and Sue Meyer

2013 Recipient

Unruh Servant Award

Sue Meyer is a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University and the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Mark Meyer is a graduate of Harvard University and the University Of Cincinnati College Of Medicine. Sue and Mark met in medical school and during that time they attended a retreat where they heard the personal testimony of a successful businessman who felt a clear call to leave his high paying job and comfortable life to help establish Christian community health centers. From that time on they both also felt a calling to use their medical skills for God’s glory. They completed a family practice residency at Akron City Hospital and eventually started a private practice together in Tallmadge. In 1995 they went on a medical mission trip to Nicaragua, which was the first of 12 trips they would take to Central America as well as to Haiti to help provide medical care to the disadvantaged poor through Faith and Freedom Ministries. Their dream of opening a faith-based, free urgent care clinic was realized in 2012 with the opening of Faithful Servants Care Center. The Meyers live in Stow and have two adult children, Katie and Zachary, and a daughter-in-law Holly. They have practiced for 28 years in Tallmadge as members of Northeast Family Healthcare and Pioneer Physicians Network.
